E-Invoicing for certain category of SMEs Delayed to 2026

The government has announced that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with annual sales between RM150,000 and RM500,000 will have more time to prepare for e-Invoicing. The new implementation date is January 1, 2026, with a six-month transition period. This decision will help over 240,000 SMEs adapt to the system.

Meanwhile, small businesses with annual sales below RM150,000, such as food vendors and small traders, are exempted from using e-Invoicing. This exemption benefits more than 700,000 small businesses.

Since e-Invoicing was first introduced in August 2024 for large companies with annual revenue above RM100 million, more than 25,000 companies have started using the system.

This delay gives SMEs more time to prepare and ensure a smooth transition to e-Invoicing. If you are an SME, start learning and transition with us on e invoice so that you and your business can be ready before 2026!
